Chinese Intelligence Services Targeting UK Lawmakers Through LinkedIn, MI5 Warns

Britain's MI5 security service has issued a public warning that Chinese intelligence operatives are systematically attempting to recruit British Members of Parliament and peers using social media platform LinkedIn. The campaign represents a coordinated espionage effort targeting influential government officials and key decision-makers. Intelligence officials characterize the approach as "covert and calculated," highlighting sophisticated recruitment tactics designed to compromise government officials and gather sensitive information. The warning underscores growing concerns about foreign interference in democratic institutions and the exploitation of social media platforms for intelligence operations.
