Over 60 gambling machines seized in major illegal operation bust spanning San Diego and Chula Vista

Law enforcement concluded an investigation into an illicit gambling operation spanning the greater San Diego region, resulting in the seizure of over 60 gambling machines across locations in both San Diego and Chula Vista. The multi-jurisdictional bust targets the organized criminal activity associated with operating illegal gambling dens, which often fund other unlawful activities and operate outside of regulatory oversight.

The crackdown indicates a successful effort by regional authorities to dismantle illegal gaming hubs that prey on vulnerable populations and evade state taxation. The machines seized are often highly sophisticated and configured to maximize profits while offering no consumer protections or oversight, contrasting sharply with regulated, licensed gaming establishments.

Investigations are continuing to determine the full scope of the organization responsible for the illegal operation, including identifying those involved in the distribution and maintenance of the machines, as well as the individuals profiting from the illicit enterprise in Chula Vista and the surrounding county.
