Deadly Paris shooting investigated as "crime of terrorism" | BBC News

One person has been killed and five others wounded - three seriously - in a shooting in a Parisian suburb which authorities are investigating as "terrorism". A 12-year-old girl is among the wounded after several drive-by shootings took place on Friday - first in Trappes to the south-west of Paris, and then in nearby La Verrière. The suspected attacker has been arrested but the motive remains unclear. Meanwhile, the French government is deploying 70,000 security forces ahead of protests on Saturday which comes after recent large-scale protests over education and the cost of living were overshadowed by riots.
