Melania Trump brokers ceasefire in Ukrainian city

The White House says first lady Melania Trump has brokered a localized ceasefire deal in Oleshky, the Ukrainian city captured by Russia early in the war. The ceasefire would allow for humanitarian aid and evacuations from the town, which the first lady said is “on the brink of disaster.” Following Friday’s announcement, officials on both sides welcomed the agreement. President Donald Trump told reporters today it was the first lady’s initiative. The ceasefire is set to begin next week. Watch PBS News for daily, breaking and live news, plus special coverage.
