New York City passes bill to ban horse carriages #shorts

Lawmakers voted on Thursday to ban horse-drawn carriage rides in New York City by the summer of 2028. The tourist attraction has been a staple in Central Park for more than 150 years but has faced increased scrutiny recently over safety concerns posed to horses and humans alike. Calls to ban the rides increased significantly after Romanch Mahajan, an 18-year-old from India, was killed after falling from his carriage while visiting New York with his family in June.
