Ottawa sends demand letter to Stelco’s owner

The federal government has given the U.S. owner of the Stelco steel plant in Hamilton, Ont., an ultimatum. The government says the company violated commitments it made when it bought the Ontario steelmaker two years ago. In an 11-page demand letter provided to Global News, the industry minister accuses the company of failing to honour six binding commitments including employment guarantees. Mackenzie Gray has more.
