Protesters stage demonstration at Indonesia’s Tugu Tani Monument

Hundreds of protesters gathered at the iconic Tugu Tani Monument in Jakarta, Indonesia on Tuesday (Oct 20) to voice their grievances over economic pressures, corruption and ongoing forest fires. Demonstrators sang the patriotic song Indonesia Pusaka and scaled the statue to unfurl large protest banners. Similar rallies and demonstrations simultaneously took place in other cities, including Yogyakarta and Bandung, coinciding with President Prabowo Subianto's second year anniversary of his adminstration. #Indonesia #indonesianews Subscribe to our channel here: Visit our website: Download our app: Get our editors' picks of stories via chat apps: (Source: CNA (Channel NewsAsia) | Region: Global)
