Western Sydney's new international airport takes flight | 7NEWS

Western Sydney International Nancy Bird Walton Airport has officially opened at Badgerys Creek after eight years of construction, with the first passenger flight departing on Jetstar 362. The new international airport, built by more than 10,000 workers over nearly 3,000 days, is expected to create over 8,000 jobs in the coming decade and serve the three million residents of Western Sydney. The terminal features architecture inspired by eucalyptus forest canopies, marking a significant shift in Sydney's infrastructure development away from the harbour and CBD towards the west.
